Vision

The Department of Computer Science was established in 2010 with the vision of a world class, research-oriented department that would cater to the need for high end computer scientists in the SAARC region.

The department has instituted unique and focused master’s programs with different specializations having the objective of producing high quality research and academic professionals for the entire SAARC region. The master's programs have up to date curriculum with adequate emphasis on theory and practice so as to promote applied and productive research in computing. The department is also working towards starting doctoral research program leading to Ph.D. degree in computer science from next academic session.

The research focus of the department is currently in 3 areas:

• Intelligent Systems,

• Distributed Computing 

• Visual Computing.

The department has currently six core faculty members and a visiting professor in Mathematics. More faculty members are expected to join in due course of time. The department strives to offer unique master's and doctoral programs in computer science, in addition to conduct & promote quality research.
